1950s Merrythought Bear

Fully restored back to health.
This beautiful bear arrived with me looking like he'd been in the war! He was filthy dirty with no hand or feet pads. His voice box long perished.
I put him on the hospital operating table and began to fix him. When I sewed the last stitch in his back, turned him around I could have cried, he really did come back to us. His mohair fur is soft and clean, new pads and a new voice (growler).
His head remains stuffed with straw and was never replaced, so his true old character remains.
He is stuffed with genuine Italian sheeps wool, it was perfect. He is medium firm and will enjoy being cuddled and loved.
He is ready for his new home now. I have named him Sam for now.
